This is an antique Victorian brass egg chatelain thimble holder with 2 silver or silver color flowers on the top to open it. I found one on line that says it is from the 1880's, don't know. It is not marked. It is 1 7/9" high and 1 1/4" in diameter. On the inside there is a part to put the thimble on. There is a handle that moves. When hanging it leans forward which is probably to keep the lid closed as there is no clasp and easier to get the thimble out when sewing. Condition is very good but there is some silvering around the bottom of the holder as seen in the 6th photo, not sure if it was made that way as I haven't seen one before. The pictures show a lot of camera reflection, not wear. An interest antique thimble holder. Please look at the pictures carefully with the mouse for details and conditions and ask questions. Thank you for viewing. U.S. SALES ONLY. There is a .00 handling fee.
