    Description

Rare Complete Grafton 'Plastic Sax' Alto Saxophone - Serial # 12084
This is a very cool, collector's quality Grafton alto sax, serial number 12084. The fabled “plastic saxophone,” you don't see these come up for sale too often, especially in good original shape like this one.
A lot of “surviving” Grafton saxophones are pretty beaten up by this point, but this one is in great shape. There are no cracks in the body of the instrument, very rare as many of these at the very least show hairline cracks around the neck strap ring. All of the original white plastic keyguards are included. The long wrap-around low C keyguard has one previously repaired crack, which has been glued, as seen in the photos. The back plastic “clothes guard” is perfect showing no cracks.
The metal parts on the sax, the keys and neck, show light “specklish” lacquer wear as is commonly seen on these instruments. Pads are old and if you are getting this sax for more than just an addition to the collection, it will need a repad before you can take it out playing. Because of the extreme collectible nature of this sax, we are selling it as-is on the original pads.
There will be some minor assembly required if we ship the sax to you. To protect the keyguards we'll take them off and wrap them separately, you'll just need to put them back on when you get the horn. This is a great find for any serious collector!
