  • Condition: This horn is being sold as not working and will require a full pad job and overhaul to be a properly functioning horn. This horn has its fair share of scratches, knicks, dings, dents, fleabites, metal wear, laq wear, patina and other anomalies associated with such an old horn! There are a couple of various small dings/dents around the horn. There is a patch of patina on the bell brace thats a bit of red. This can easily be taken off if you choose so.

    For sale is a Selmer Mark VI 125xxx tenor saxophone in glorious original lacquer!
    This horn is a prime era example of a 125xxx Coltrane era horn with its 125xxx matching serial number neck, Selmer end plug & factory tray pack case!
    John Coltrane was famous for playing 2 different saxophones in his life.  Earlier on he played his 40xxx SBA and later on he played his 125xxx Mark VI tenor.
    Coltrane's Mark VI tenor has been very well documented as was his one and only exclusive Mark VI horn that he used professionally on and said later recordings.
    Coltrane's 125xxx now is in Washington DC part of the Smithsonian museum!

    This saxophone is literally less then 200 serial's away from Coltrane's horn.  For the Coltrane obsessed player thats also a Selmer collector it doesn't get much cooler then this.
    This saxophone is gorgeous original lacquer with deep original factory engravings.
    This horn is sitting on most of its factory Selmer pads!
    This saxophone comes with its original Selmer end plug worth a pretty penny.
    This saxohpones comes with its tray pack case made to hold your tenor, clarinet and flute.  This case is in pretty great condition with a nice exterior and popping clean purple inside.
    The Selmer logo is perfectly entact as well both zippers are functional.  These cases sell by them selves for a serious retail price.
